Heavy Flow, Light Flow, or Somewhere in Between? Here's How to Choose the Right Comfolla

Here is a question we get all the time.

"I want to try period underwear, but I don't know which one to get."

It is a fair question. Walk into the Comfolla collection and you will find options for light days, heavy days, overnight protection, seamless days at work, swimming, and everything in between. That is a good problem to have, but it can feel overwhelming when you are just starting out.

So let's make it simple. Here is exactly how to choose the right Comfolla for your body, your flow, and your life.

First, Understand Your Flow

Before you pick a style, you need to know what you are working with. Most women have a mix of flow levels across their cycle, heavy on day one and two, moderate through the middle, lighter towards the end. Period underwear is not one-size-fits-all, and neither is your period.

Here is a quick guide to how we measure absorbency at Comfolla:

For Your Light and Regular Days

If you are looking for something to wear on lighter days, as backup protection, or for the tail end of your cycle, Toni is your answer. It is a classic thong design with bamboo fabric, which means no visible panty lines and natural antibacterial freshness. For women who love the freedom of thongs but want coverage during their period, Toni handles 10 to 20ml quietly and comfortably.

For a step up in coverage with moderate absorbency, Becca (KSh 1,499) offers French lace detailing with bamboo fabric. It holds 20 to 30ml and is the kind of period underwear you actually look forward to wearing. Same goes for Heather (KSh 1,700), a high-waist bamboo style in three colours, including orange, which is a customer favourite for regular flow days.

For Overnight

This is a category worth taking seriously. Most women either suffer through the night with a thick pad or wake up to a problem. Neither should be your reality.

Brianna (KSh 2,499) is designed exclusively for overnight wear. It is a boyshort boxer style with bamboo fabric, 40 to 50ml super absorbency, and coverage that wraps around you from every angle. Whether you sleep on your side, your back, or move around all night, Brianna stays in place and keeps you dry. Several customers have said they sleep through their period for the first time in years after switching to it.

Where to Start If You Are Completely New

If this is your first time trying period underwear and you are not sure where to begin, start with one pair on a moderate flow day. That way you can test how it feels without the pressure of your heaviest day.

Most women begin with Heather or Becca for everyday wear, and Brianna for nights. From there, you build your rotation as you learn what your body needs.

A full cycle typically needs five to seven pairs so you can rotate and wash without ever running out. Once you have that, your monthly spend on disposables drops to zero.
